Vice president Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia continue to bash the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for wreaking havoc on the Ghanaian economy before exiting power on January 7, 2017
He disclosed that the governing New Patriotic Party inherited what he described as a”Dompe” economy from the immediate past National Democratic Congress (NDC) government which nearly brought the country to its knees
He said, the Mills/Mahama led administration mismanaged the country’s economy and brought untold hardships to many Ghanaians.
Dr. Bawumia explained that the current government has been able to put the economy on the sound footing and delivered many of its campaign promises by the grace of God due to the mantra by President Akufo- Addo that ‘the battle is the Lord’s’.
“Even though we inherited a ‘dompe ‘economy without the ability to pay for many basic things…We have been able to put meat on the bone.”
“We have delivered Free SHS programme, we have paid teacher trainees allowance, nursing training allowance, we have delivered a reduction in electricity tariffs, rolled out Nation Builders Corps (NABCO), The Zongo Development Fund, Planting for Food and Jobs and there is more on the way,” Dr Bawumia stated.
The Vice President said this on Monday when he met with Daasebre Osei Bonsu, the Paramount Chief of Asante Mampong and the Zongo community, at Mampong in the Ashanti Region as part of his tour of Zongo communities in all the regions covered by MyNewsGH.com’s Ashanti Regional reporter.
According to him, the economic hardships under the NDC made life very unbearable to the extent that many parents had difficulty paying their children’s school fees.
Dr Bawumia assured the Paramount Chief and his subjects that the NPP administration led by President Akufo-Addo is working hard to deliver on the remaining promises of the government to bring relief to Ghanaians.
He pledged his commitment to ensure that their poor roads are fixed adding that other development projects they are expecting from the government will be delivered.
He appealed to the Paramount Chief and the people of Mampong to continue to offer prayers for president Akufo-Addo and his appointees so that they will receive the grace and wisdom of God to deliver.
